The Presidency of Al-Nahrain University held a meeting of the university committee to control the circulation of dangerous and toxic chemical and biological materials which were present in the various laboratories of the university’s colleges, which were prepared using the CAT program, which was designed basing on the directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The meeting was chaired by an Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Omar Farouk, and the responsible for the CAT system in all the university’s formations, Professor Dr. Nisreen Rahim Jabr, as well as a representatives from all the university’s formations and colleges. The meeting addressed the application of the CAT system including the inventory of chemical materials and the percentage of completion of each formation for entering the chemical materials into the system, as well as the destruction of chemical materials and approaching the Scientific Affairs Department with tables determining unusable materials. An Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs recommended holding periodic workshops to introduce the dangers of chemical materials, especially double-use, as well as pursuing the formations of the University for evaluating chemical materials stores and the laboratory evaluation form.
